What this site remembers.

1. Technologies we use

Authentication session (local storage): Supabase session information keeps a signed-in member authenticated and allows secure account requests. It lasts until sign-out, expiry, or removal of site data. This is strictly necessary for the member service.

Quiz progress and result (local storage): lse-quiz-progress, lse-quiz-result, and lse-quiz-session-id remember an unfinished quiz, show the result, and link a completed result to an account. They stay on the device until replaced or cleared and are necessary to provide the quiz flow requested by the visitor.

Security and delivery data: our hosting and API infrastructure may process short-lived request, routing, rate-limit, and security information needed to deliver pages, prevent abuse, and keep the service reliable. It is not used for advertising profiles.

Deliberate action telemetry: when you click a join, registration, test, booking, or checkout action, the server records that requested action and request context without placing an analytics cookie. A pseudonymous key is calculated on the server from request information; it is not stored in your browser. Ordinary page views are not sent through this operational alert system.

2. Third-party services

If you choose Google sign-in, open Stripe Checkout or the billing portal, or join an event on Zoom, you leave or embed into our service and that provider may place its own cookies under its privacy and cookie notices. Those technologies support the action you requested and are controlled by the relevant provider.

3. No non-essential tracking

We do not currently run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, cross-site behavioural tracking, or similar optional browser technology. Because only strictly necessary feature storage is active and deliberate action telemetry does not write an analytics identifier to your device, there is no “accept all” banner.

If we add optional analytics, marketing, or personalisation technology, it will remain disabled until you make a clear choice where consent is required. We will provide equally prominent accept and reject controls and a way to change that choice.

4. Your controls

You can inspect, block, or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Clearing Ladies Speak English site data signs you out and removes quiz progress on that device. Blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in, checkout, or quiz features from working.
