This notice explains what Ladies Speak English collects, why it is used, who processes it, and the choices available to members.

Information we collect
We process account and identity information such as email address, display name, Google authentication identifiers, age-and-eligibility confirmation, and account status. Optional profile information includes country, timezone, interests, visibility, and communication preferences.
We also process quiz answers and campaign attribution, event bookings and attendance, membership and payment status, service notifications, safety reports, consent choices, and limited technical logs needed for security and reliability. Stripe processes card information directly; card numbers are not stored by Ladies Speak English.
Why we use information
Information is used to create and secure accounts, provide live events, enforce the free-event and membership rules, operate billing, deliver service messages, respond to support and safety concerns, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate quiz acquisition results.
Depending on the activity and applicable law, processing is based on performing the service contract, complying with legal duties, legitimate interests in operating a safe and reliable club, or consent for optional marketing and explicitly announced recordings. Optional consent can be changed in the member profile.
Service providers and international processing
Supabase provides authentication and database services; Vercel hosts the application; Google provides optional sign-in; and, once activated, Stripe will process payments, Zoom will host live video, and the selected email provider will send transactional messages. These providers process information under their own security and data-protection terms.
Providers may process information in countries outside a member’s home country. Where required, the operator will rely on appropriate contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Conversation privacy and safety
Ordinary breakout conversations are not recorded by the platform. Members may not record, screenshot, or share another participant’s words or personal information without clear permission. Any session that may be recorded must be announced separately and requires an explicit consent choice.
Safety reports are visible only to the reporting member and administrators. Account access may be restricted while a report or suspected abuse is reviewed.
Retention and security
Account and operational information is retained while an account is active and then deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed, subject to payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, accounting, and other legal retention duties. Security audit and safety records may be retained for a reasonable period after account deletion when necessary to protect members or establish legal claims.
The service uses row-level database access controls, restricted administrator access, server-only secrets, rate limiting, audit logs, and encrypted HTTPS connections. No online service can promise absolute security, so members should use a unique password and protect their Google account.
Your choices and rights
Members can change profile visibility and optional consents, download a portable account copy, and request permanent account deletion from the profile page. An active paid subscription must first be cancelled through billing so that renewal and access dates remain accurate.
Depending on location, a member may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive portable data, and complain to a data-protection authority. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.
Children and eligibility
The club is for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. The service records a self-attestation that a member is eligible for the women-only community; it does not ask members to upload identity documents during ordinary registration.
